Human Genetic Signatures is a privately held biotechnology company located in Sydney, Australia. It has 14 patent filings and know-how central to significant commercial applications in the fields of infectious diseases detection, cancer risk assessment and DNA methylation and related technologies.
It has been operating since May 2001, has had four successful fund raising events, (private equity) has three products in the marketplace, with others scheduled for launch in 2007 and has agreements with offshore companies and Institutions.
The company is comprised of a Board of Directors and an Expert Advisory Panel with the latter having oversight and biennial input in all areas scientific, medical and ethical. The company’s Intellectual Property matters are handled by Allens Arthur Robinson, Sydney, Australia, and Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, of San Diego, California.
In 2004 the company acquired the Intellectual Property and activities relating to Intercalating Nucleic Acids from the Danish company UNEST. Human Genetic Signatures was also awarded a Biotechnology Innovation Fund grant by the Australian Government for developing cutting edge technologies relating to Nucleic Acid Detection Assays.
The Company’s primary focus is now on the commercialisation of its developed assets in the fields of microbial detection using its proprietary Simplification Technology. |
